Why Soy Wax

We use soy wax in every candle we make. Here is why it suits our handmade process.

Soy wax gives each candle a refined surface and a tactile finish that suits small-batch work. It is soft enough for detailed forms, yet structured enough for sculptural designs when the blend is handled carefully. The material also rewards patience. Temperature, cooling time, mould preparation, and finishing all affect the final surface. That is why each Maison de Lumière candle is handled in small batches rather than rushed through production. Natural wax can show subtle frosting or tonal variation. We treat these details as part of the material language, while still checking every piece for finish, proportion, and presentation before it leaves the studio.
